Can I ask my editor a question?

If you have questions about changes that were made in your edited paper, please contact us, and we will get back to you with a response within an hour.

Our expert customer service representatives can provide personalized support by explaining specific changes in your paper upon request. These representatives can also communicate with your editor on your behalf to ensure that your questions are fully answered.

Do you guarantee the publication of my paper?

Editing of a paper does not imply that the paper will be selected for peer review or accepted by publications. The decisions of journal editors are based on the suitability of each paper for that journal. But we guarantee to revise your paper if required without any time limits.

What is included in the word count?

To find the total word count in a Microsoft Word document, remove the reference list and any numeric table data, then use the word count feature in Microsoft Word (under the Review tab). If you are submitting the document for scientific editing, please ensure that you restore the deleted information after performing the word count, as the editors will need to see it.

Your word count will be verified by the assigned editor, and you will be contacted if there is a discrepancy that affects the price (whether an increase or decrease).

If you would like us to edit only part of your text, please request this when you upload your document.

If you choose scientific editing, we strongly recommend that you provide us with all of the scientific material that is eventually intended for publication, including text that you do not want us to edit, so that our editors can fully understand your work.

How do I know when my document is ready?

As soon as the document is ready, it will be emailed to you.

What file formats do you accept for editing?

Please send us your work for editing in a Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) file.

Do I need to upload my manuscript for a price quote?

No. Our fixed prices are based on word counts and turnaround times, so when you use our service, you know exactly how much it is going to cost depending on your document’s word count and how soon you need the edited document. For more information from our quick-guide pricing tables, please go to pricing.

What background and specializations do your editors have?

We place a lot of emphasis on subject-area expertise. Our editorial team includes physicians, PhDs, MDs, postgraduates, engineers, and even journal peer reviewers. Over 60% of our manuscript editors come from a research background. Depending on their academic qualifications and professional experience, our editors work within one of 20 editing Centers of Excellence (CoEs). The editors within each CoE have a high level of technical competency in that specific field of study and an incisive understanding of the finer nuances of your subject, relevant writing conventions, terminology, etc.

What does Manuscript Formatting include?

Our formatting experts check each manuscript against your journal’s style guide. They adjust the citations, references, and layout of the document to the correct conventions. Figures and tables are moved to the correct location in the manuscript, and figure titles and legends are standardized to the specifications of your chosen journal.

Is my document safe with Global Edits?

In addition to maintaining a secure website, we also require all our staff members sign a confidentiality agreement to protect your research.

Do you work on weekends and holidays?

Yes. Weekends and holidays are included in our turnaround times.

Do I have to wait for a price quote?

No. Our online price calculator will show the cost of your order, based on your selected service(s), manuscript word count, and desired turnaround time. Once our staff verifies the word count of your manuscript, your order will proceed without a quote.

What information will appear on my invoice?

In addition to the services purchased, your invoice will contain your billing address, the order date, your manuscript name, and receipt code. Our support team can customize your invoice if you need additional information added.
